OverView:
This role is ideal for a high functioning nurse expert in Adult Acute Care Services. Master's highly preferred; work history with quality, evidence-based information, safety outcomes, program development, and process improvement highly preferred. This position is an expert in program development and implementation of Evidence Based Practice. This position influences quality patient care, promotes interdepartmental teamwork, enhances staff development, and participates in retention and recruitment activities, through educational endeavors. This position operationalizes adult learning theory in evaluating educational needs of the nursing staff, developing and teaching educational programs and in-services. Uses the organization's framework for professional nursing practice and development and the American Nurses Association scope and standards of practice for nursing professional development.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Leads various teams and committees that research activities regarding new training and educational programs to increase nursing quality and standards of care for the assigned facility and or region.2. Participates in facility and regional program development which may include the preceptor program and clinical academies.3. Leads and manages new initiatives and implementation of Evidence Based Practice.4. Partners with other professional nurses and nursing management with in assigned region and across the entire organization to assess and develop clinical programs.5. Develops and evaluates curriculum, educational materials and coordinates CEU applications for professional programs.6. Assures seamless orientation of nursing services new hires by overseeing the orientation process from classroom to clinical area; problem solves issues related to new hire individual needs.7. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required.Must possess current RN licensure in the state of practice. BLS Certification required.Must have at least three years of recent acute care facility in their area of practice or similar experience as an education coordinator/instructor in healthcare environment. This position requires excellent communication skills and significant experience in educational research design of nursing related units as well as developing, teaching and coordinating educational programs for adult learners. This position requires strong organization, communication, group interaction and presentation skills, and ability to take the initiative, to problem solve, and to improve processes required. Must possess critical thinking skills with ability to prioritize needs rapidly. Excellent verbal/written communication and negotiation skills; problem solving ability, understanding of regulatory guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of practice.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCertification or advanced education in practice area preferred.Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
