This is not a current position opening. This is information about a future training opportunity. Cohort 13 has been approved and will begin May 2010. Applications will be available on-line beginning December 1, 2009.
This program is a partnership between Intermountain Healthcare and Salt Lake Community College that offers Intermountain employees the opportunity to complete a two-year Associates Degree in Nursing. The program is a six semester program including summer semesters. The program includes tuition, a book allowance and one uniform. Salt Lake Community College provides the curriculum and faculty. Other faculty members may include masters-prepared nurses from Intermountain Healthcare who will serve as adjunct faculty. Students must receive a C+ or better in each class. Students who receive less than a C+ in a class do not move forward with the cohort. Classes will held at the Jordan Campus of Salt Lake Community College (Approximately 90th South and Bangerter Highway).
Must complete an application/selection process. Applications will be available on-line beginning December 1, 2009.
Must be an Intermountain Healthcare employee at the time of application and throughout the selection process. Must work at least 24 hours per week in any position at any Intermountain Healthcare facility throughout the duration of the program.
Must complete the following pre-requisite courses with at least a C+ or better:
PSY 1100 Human Growth and Development - Psych or Nursing department only
HLTH 1020 Foundations of Nutrition
ENGL 1010 Introduction to Writing
MATH 1020 Math for Health Disciplines
BIOL 1610/1615 Foundations of Biology and Lab
BIOL 2320/2325 Human Anatomy and Lab
BIOL 2420/2425 Human Physiology and Lab
CHEM 1110/1115 Elementary Chemistry and Lab

After completion of the program, students will be required work as a Registered Nurse for two years or equivalent hours for an Intermountain Urban Central Region hospital or Primary Children's Medical Center. (The Urban Central Region hospitals include Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Riverton Medical Center (opening in Fall 2009) and TOSH).
