Women's Services Nurse

As a women's health nurse at Baylor, you'll know you're making a difference in your patients' lives. Our nurses are expert practitioners and valued partners on the women's health team. They improve patient outcomes with evidenced-based practice - and they're recognized for their accomplishments.

Baylor's nurses are empowered to make decisions that improve patient care. We are committed to a shared leadership model that encourages all staff nurses to be actively involved in setting the clinical policies and procedures for their unit.

Our women's services nurses work in a warm, soothing, technologically advanced environment that's dedicated to the special needs of women of all ages. They prescribe, delegate, coordinate and deliver patient care that meets our high standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations. They also supervise the care delivered by the patient care team, coordinate care plans, educate patients, new parents and staff, and collaborate with other disciplines.

More than 14,000 babies were born in Baylor hospitals in 2007. The exemplary care our nurses give patients was recognized in 2007 as readers of Dallas Child magazine voted Baylor University Medical Center the best place to have a baby in Dallas.

We have career opportunities available for women's services nurses at all of our system hospitals except Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano.

Our hospitals include Andrews Women's Hospital in Fort Worth, which opened in March 2008. The facility offers comprehensive specialty services and hotel-like amenities including a spa, in-room massages, room service and accommodations for patients' families. It was designed with nurse and physician input every step of the way.
