The Telemetry Registered Nurse reports directly to the unit Clinical Manager, and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care through the utilization of the nursing process in accordance with physicians' orders, established policies and procedures, established professional standards, and administrative hospital-wide policies.
Eligibility: Candidates must meet all requirements of applicable job description, including competency testing. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience with not less than 1 year in the area for which they are contracted to work.
Employee Classification: Employess will be classified as temporary employees and will receive no benefits other than those defined by Federal or State law.
Program Duration: Largo Medical Center Seasonal Staffing Program offers assignments for 12-18 week full seasonal period (January 17 through May 8). Shorter agreements may be granted at the discretion of the hospital depending on facility needs. A minimum contract of 12 weeks is required. Employees are eligible to apply for available openings at the end of the specified employment agreement.
Scheduling Options: Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week; 72 hours per pay period) including every other weekend.
Other Conditions:
- Employee will attend hospital New Employee Orientation and receive appropriate departmental orientation.
- Employees will float according to their skill level.
- Overtime will be paid in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Employees will work holidays as determined by facility.
- The hospital reserves the right to terminate this program/employment at any time.
Current licensure as an RN.
Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider; ACLS dependent on contracted position.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN desired.
Current State Registered Nurse License.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS is required as a condition of employment.
Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider card required within one year of hire date.
