Cardiovascular Services Administrator

Job Purpose:   The Director of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for the leadership, successful operations, and quality of Cardiovascular Services at the facility.  

 

Job Summary :

The Cardiovascular Director facilitates the integration and teamwork of all Cardiovascular Departments for optimal care of patients.  

The Director works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff and the Cardiovascular Services Medical Director to ensure the highest level of care for patients, and ensures that all services provided meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.

The Director works with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives, understand economic considerations, and increase physician/hospital alignment.

The Director is responsible for development of strategic and tactical plans to maximize the effectiveness of Cardiovascular services at the facility.   This includes budget planning and management (capital and operational).

The Director is responsible for ensuring that Cardiovascular Services are performing in conjunction with the mission and values of the facility and of HCA, including participation in goals and processes derived from HCA initiatives.

 

Essential Qualifications:

-                 Education:   College Degree, Masters preferred (MSN, MBA, or MHA)

-                 Licensure:   Current state Registered Nurse license

-                 Experience:   Minimum of 5 (prefer 10) years in Cardiovascular Services, with at least half of those years in Cardiovascular leadership (prefer in a program with full Cardiovascular services)

-                 Other:

 

Patient Populations Served :   All patient populations are served, from Neonate/Infant to Adult/Geriatric.

-                 In depth and up-to-date knowledge of the financial environment of healthcare, in particular Cardiovascular care.

-                 Monitors changes in markets served and reacts appropriately, including changes in technology, trends in volumes and treatment options, opportunities for growth.   Actively searches for new markets and growth opportunities.

-                 Uses available resources and marketing information to develop effective service promotions and marketing plans.

-                 Interacts with external suppliers to promote the hospital's ability to maintain and expand market share.

-                 Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines and protocols.   Supports the hospital mission, vision, and values, as well as those of HCA.

-                 Accepts and supports change within the organization.

-                 Adheres to hospital/department personnel policies.   Acts as a role model in these policies for staff.

-                 Is competent and responsible in following safety and security policies of the hospital.

-                 Conducts all interactions and service in keeping with institutional and corporate ethics and compliance policies.
